Perhaps a joint project car in the near future? Hmm… that XJS would look good in the driveway. Proper British green with wirewheels. I’m dialing his number now (since he’ll need to bankroll this thing…)

Great stuff, Eggs. If there’s one common thread about Saab stories it’s the way that they capture and captivate. There’s only a few brands that do that.

Jon: you wouldn’t believe the wealth on display at my university — two of my classmates were Ross Perot’s youngest daughter (Mr. Perot was the second richest man in the US at the time) and Lloyd Reuss’s son (Mr. Reuss is former President of GM’s C-O-P division – Chevy, Olds and Pontiac). It was not unusual to see a student driving a 911 or M-B convertible. BMW’s and Corvettes were even more common.

Then, there were guys like me, no money, crumbling 1979 Oldsmobile, clinging to hope of a better life….
