As usual, the Swedes are extremely punctual with their sales data.
Thanks to Dave in comments and ctm via email, we have the following:
The Saab 9-5 range, fueled by BioPower no doubt, continues to lead the Saab charge selling 975 units during January. This was a 13.37% rise over the 860 units sold in the same month last year. The Saab 9-5 was once again the second-best seller in Sweden after the Ovlov V70.
The Saab 9-3 was once again fourth on the Swedish sales list, selling 790 units during January. Unfortunately, this number represented a fall of 111 units, or 12.31% from the 901 units sold in January 2006.
Other sales of note:
43 Cadillac BLS’s
1 Alfa Brera, and
1 Hummer
Swade, check this from “left lane news” website for the US sales figures.
“Saab was the only GM brand to report an increase in sales — up 3.3 percent from January 2006.” It seams the 9-5 is picking up in the US.
Some interesting figures inside the Swedish sales data.
Of the 975 9-5 sold, 818 was the BioPower model. It’s still by far the most popular environmentally friendly car. Number 2 is Ford Focus Flexifuel (497 out of a total of 585).
