It looks like the 3rd Annual Saab Design competition, sposored by GM Korea, might well have been run and won. It’s hard to tell though as I can’t read Korean. But there’s a whole bucketload of photos on the website with some featured more prominently than others, which make them look like winners to me.
I covered last year’s competition winners as well and this year looks to be a bit of an improvement. The aviation theme was quite prominent. It looks like entrants had to design either an ad for Saab itself, or some sort of product with a Saab theme, the sort of thing you’d see in a Saab Essentials catalogue.
Some are fantastic and some are downright strange, but either way they make for some interesting viewing.
The website for the competition is here. You’ll find your way around.
Following are some of the best Saab ads, a few of the best Saab-based products, and some entries that made me think “What the….?”
My favourite Saab ads

Some of my favourite Saab-related product designs.
I’m really not sure if this next one’s a coffin or a tanning booth. Any ideas?

Images that just made me scratch my head….
I’m quite sure that some of these are sitting in students’ portfolios and they just pull them out and brand them for whatever competition or assignment is set. The rest are just confusing….

This one below isn’t here because it’s wierd. It just brought a smile to my face. My step-daughter used to have a Japanese student living at her home and due to the nature of the Japanese language, all of her “L” sounds came out as “R”. It was very endearing and she laughed about it a lot. When I saw “Rens” on this picture it reminded me of Chihiro.

not sold on the Saab vacuum car (“it really sucks!”) but i’ll take a glowing umbrella!
like most of them alot. Just bad it is a bit hard to navigate on korean. think there are quite a few of them that would work….
“Forever your mind” ? I’m thinking that’s a coffin!
