Wednesday Snippets
Either somebody’s got a good sense of humour, or Saab are showing some rather unorthodox behaviour.
Want an Aero-X?
There’s one for sale at German car trader website, Autoscout.
Hurry. This one won’t last!

A big welcome to the Italian Saab Car Club, who join us on the side bar.
I’m still upset about the way you guys beat [...]
Salomon 9-3 range
Here’s another one for the special editions list.
Saab Germany are doing a Salomon special edition for the 9-3 range. There’s a Salomon package available with all three body types, in all configurations except for the V6 Aero.
The prices vary with the engine type chosen, but the Salomon package represents a saving of between [...]
Saab Events Update
UK dwellers may or may not know that the Saab Owners Club is having it’s national meet this weekend, the 28th to 30th July, at Staffordshire County Showground. The program is as follows:
Arrivals
Friday from 14:00; settle in and meet friends old and new.
Friday Evening
In the Ingesture suite for quiz night, a pie supper and [...]
Late night quick snippets
Excellent story here on GM’s purchasing chief - Bo Andersson.
This is one of the reasons why I don’t think the whole GM/Renault/Nissan thing is a goer. GM alone have over 3,000 separate suppliers and their purchasing, as an entity, is second only to the US military!
That’s a hell of a lot of purchasing power [...]
Saab 9-3 ‘Vert - Video and review
First, let’s take in the video, shall we?
It’s not directly related to the writeup, by the way, but it’s always nice to look at a ‘vert in action.
It’s a bit like a 2.5 minute TV commercial for newbies. Plenty of ready-steady-go in there.
Go watch it again and take a good look at that [...]
Question:
I occasionally hear from dealers that check in here from time to time.
Bouyed by the thought of helping one buyer recently via the information available here, I was wondering today whether or not it would be worthwhile setting up a sister site to cater specifically for dealers or others doing current Saab model research?
What I’m [...]
The 9-5 and the Financial Times
I received a very rewarding email last night. It came from Todd R and here’s an excerpt:
I grew up around 900s. I currently own a 325Ci, which I am about to trade in for 9-3 Sportcombi. Your blog had a lot to do with that change. It was a great resource [...]
Some 2007 News
Big thanks to Saab007, who attended the Aero Academy last week and emailed me to let me know about some non-driving knowledge he gained while he was there.
He got to chatting with one of the Saab guys there, who answered a few questions and quite possibly avoided a few others. The full bug is [...]
