Massive Old-Saab-Sale on Ebay!!

Thanks to Nutcase at SaabCentral, news that the on-again-off-again “barn sale” is…………on again. This a very extensive collection of old Saabs that were stored in a barn in the UK and are now going up for sale. Some are parts only, some are restorers. From two-stroke to turbo and there’s even a ‘vert in there too.

There are some quite rare cars for sale here - Sonetts Mk II & III for example. They’d do me quite nicely. And the 99 turbos. What the heck, throw a 96 in as well.

The link from Ebay is here, but please note - the cars are not for sale on Ebay itself. The seller is merely using Ebay to publicise the sale, which will be via sealed auction at an undisclosed address from the 21st - 23rd July 2006. You can email the seller via the Ebay link to get the address for the sale.

The cars for sale are as follows:

I can reasonably foresee a similar sale being advertised out of Richmond, Tasmania……

Free chook with every car sold!

    • saabologist said:

And a plate of steak and chips.

Wish I had the space! Would love some of the cars in that collection!

Gents, no sale here. And no free chooks from me Steve. Yes, free steak and chips but I then eat them.

How cool is the yellow ‘73 99? A shame that it would be logistically difficult to collect a couple of the cars.

If I had the money I would buy every single one of those Saabs! If only…

someone posted info on isaab.net about model year 07:

      interior as the leaked pictures
almost same price (maybe only in sweden?)
      bose-stereo optional

      saab 9-5:
      new engine 2.3t biopower 210bhp
2.3t and 2.3T no longer available

take it for what its worth…

Hmm, not first this time. :) Anyway, found this about a new engine for 9-5 (same as mentioned in post above) so that is confirmed:

Saab 9-5 with the new 2.3t BioPower-engine will be sold in the Nordic countries, Great Britan and Ireland. Saab 9-3 will have a BioPower engine in the future, but no word about which engine or when.

Ok, Ok, you’ve all quite finished taking the p***? ;o)

Wouldn’t mind that bullnose 95 wagon, want one of those luggage carriers for mine! Maybe even the two other 96 strokers….. and even, perhaps the black 99T. Or even the red one. Or white one. Or orange one……

Transport may not be a problem, Bill. The post says that most are roadworthy and driveable…….

Now there’s an idea for a club event…. I’ll call it the Vintage Saab Delivery Prorgam, where we’ll all fly to the UK and drive them back…. yeah, loaded with all those NOS spares… and we’ll get Matty Gould to do all the running repairs! Just like Targa 2005…….

      Hmmmmm,

I wonder if I can con Alex into subsidising such an event.

Budget: around $8,000 per participant. I reckon if SCCA could throw in $4,000 each we might have a chance….

      What say, Al?

      London to Hobart Saab rally?

If anyone knows anyone in the international car-shipping business I’d be seriously interested in one or two.
