It's a horrid omission for Saab in an otherwise great car. Had they given that and one or two safety innovations (which Saab's flagship deserves), it might motivate some of us with ageing 9-5s to think about an upgrade to the new version. Without substantially improved safety, I like mine very well. At 5½ years/77,000 miles it's barely an adolescent anyhow. Would it have really cost GM that much to put curtain airbags in the 9-5?
